About the Church Sound Class

The Church Sound Class is a welcoming community for church audio volunteers who want clarity, confidence, and consistency behind the console.

Most of our members have been “doing sound” for years—many for decades—and still want better answers, better understanding, and better results. Others are just getting started and want to build a solid foundation without feeling embarrassed or overwhelmed.

This isn’t about shortcuts, hype, or chasing gear trends. There are no magic buttons. Just clear fundamentals, practical explanations, and real conversations about how sound systems actually work.

We’ve been communicating directly with church sound techs since 1997, long enough to see trends come and go—and to know what truly matters. That experience helps us filter out noise, myths, and bad advice so you can focus on what makes a real difference.
