Her Last Chapter Begins With Me is a raw and intimate memoir that follows two intertwined lives — a mother’s story of unimaginable tragedy and a daughter’s journey to carry her legacy forward.

My mother grew up in a big, loving family of eleven children. Her childhood was filled with laughter, handmade dresses, and the warmth of a close-knit home — until one night, everything changed. A devastating fire tore through their house, claiming the lives of her siblings. My grandmother, who risked her life to save her children, was later awarded the Star of Courage by the Governor General of Canada.

But the fire was only the beginning of my mother’s pain. She went on to lose multiple babies to a rare kidney disease, and later, my father — the love of her life. Through every heartbreak, she somehow kept going, holding on to hope, and protecting me with all the strength she had left.
This book is both her story and mine.
