I’m Deiedria, and I’d like to share why I created this space.

I know grief not just from one loss, but from many. I lost my sister to suicide in 2019. I lost my oldest brother in 2003. I lost my son to gun violence in 2024. I lost my mother to breast cancer in 2025. And I lost 3 nephew between 2020-2024. Grief has come into my life in many ways, and I understand how it feels when loss layers on top of loss.

I created Gracefully Broken not because I have all the answers, but because I wanted a gentle place where we don’t have to explain why we’re still grieving, or why some days are heavier than others.
