I’ve been involved with Forex since 2006.

2006–2008 was study and demo; from around 2009–2015 my news-driven intraday style worked well enough for me to trade full-time.
Then the regime changed. Brexit cost me about $24k in seconds. From 2016–2018, trade-war headlines and 3 AM tweets turned that style into a liability and I bled out roughly $200k.

Other traders had different results; this is simply what happened in my account.

With about $50k left and my health wrecked, I stopped trying to fight a 24-hour news machine. I rebuilt everything around one rule: no decisions until the New York Daily Close \(5 PM\).

The 5 PM Desk exists to trade clean, end-of-day price action with fixed risk and a calmer nervous system.
