Hi! 👋🏼
I've long dreamed of having a space online to support parents of beginning piano students AND the parents themselves, and any other adult beginners.
This community is currently under construction.
About my studies:
I grew up in Missoula, Montana, where we were extraordinarily lucky to have a teacher who was a GIFT to humanity, Fifi Hut. At university, I studied with Nelita True, one of the greatest educators of the past century. At Stanford, I got my doctorate in Performance Practice, which is the study of how music was performed when it was written.
About my teaching:
I've been teaching nearly all my life, and I LOVE it. 🥰 I was the winner of the Centennial Teaching Assistant Award at Stanford University in 1994, a university-wide award recognizing exceptional teaching abilities. My students \(and other professors\) said very nice things about me. ☺️
It is an honor and a privilege to pass on what I've learned from my teachers and from teaching itself over the course of my lifetime.
