In the vibrant city of Los Angeles, my father and his siblings transitioned from navigating the streets to serving their country in the military. Their experiences and resilience inspired them to embark on a new venture—a family business known as The Johnson Family Cafe. Affectionately called “The Cafe,” it became a cherished gathering place where food, family, and friends came together, sharing laughter, tears, and, most importantly, creating lasting memories.
Though The Cafe is no longer, its legacy lives on in our hearts. As the third generation, I often reflect on the warmth and connection it brought to our family and community. This legacy inspires my work as the founder of Black On The Platform, where supporting black-owned businesses and uplifting our communities remains at the core of our mission. Through this endeavor, we continue to honor our family’s history and contribute to the creation of new memories and opportunities for future generations.
